Welcome
OFFICE HOURS: 3:30 - 4:00
It is with great pleasure to introduce myself as a member of the Lawrence County School District family (MES), serving our community as an Exceptional Education teacher. My name is Celdric McDowell of McComb, MS. As a lifelong native of southwest MS, I graduated from high school in 1995. My high school Alma Mater laid a solid foundation for my post-secondary education at Alcorn State University (1995-2000), where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in General Studies, with a concentration on History and Anthropology. After teaching for several years, I had an increasing desire to serve our students and communities in a capacity that has a greater impact on their social and academic successes. In 2008, I completed the Master's cohort at the University of Southern Mississippi, in Educational Leadership and Administration.
Following undergraduate school, my educational career began at Hazlehurst City School District in 2001 as a Social Studies Teacher, Football, Basketball, and Baseball coach. At South Pike Junior High (2005-2009), I served as a Social Studies Teacher, ICT-1 teacher, Football/Basketball Coach, and Instructional Strategist. During my tenure at Amite County School District (2009-2019), I honed the necessary leadership skills that lent themselves from a range of - increasing a positive/safe 7-12th grade student environment, implementing a successful academic plan toward an "A" rating, and using data to drive evidence-based academic, budgetary, and co-curricular decisions.
It is my pledge to lend every effort necessary to educating our students with fidelity, as I am honored to serve this community as an educator; as well, I encourage you to keep an open mind and heart as we embark on the historical school year.
It is always A GREAT DAY TO BE A JAGUAR AT M.E.S.!
